THE Anti-corruption prosecutor has presented a lawsuit against Jaume Matas and Juan Miguel Villar Mir regarding the assignation of Son Espases Hospital.The former President of the Balearic Government and the former minister are accused of fraud, document falsification and defrauding the public administration.Also accused are the former Health Councillor, Aina Castillo; the former Director General of the Health Service, Sergio Beltran; the owner of consultor Global PM, Jesus Peinado; the advisor for that company, Francisco Piña; Hospital Director, Jose Magan, and the former Partido Popular Manager, Fernando Areal.Son Espases is the largest public building carried out in the Balearic Islands and had an initial budget of almost €780 million. It is believed that the contract to build the hospital may have been assigned illegally.
