A generous donation for a worthy cause

Susan Hannam, Liz Scott, Syd Weldon and Age Care volunteers whose work, along with generous item donors, made the funding possible.

THANKS to a €20,000 donation from Age Care Association, Cudeca is going to be able to install a new nurse call system.

The funds, raised at Age Care’s charity shop, will enable Cudeca to replace call alarms and lighting systems at its 10-year-old hospice inpatients’ unit.

Age Care President Syd Weldon and Treasurer Liz Scott presented a cheque for the generous amount to Susan Hannam, Vice-president of Cudeca’s board of trustees, accompanied by volunteers who were happy to know they had helped raise funds for another worthy cause along with funding Age Care’s own welfare work within the community, mainly thanks to generous donations of clothes, books and bric-a-brac regularly handed in to the shop at El Zoco, Calahonda.

Anyone interested in joining Age Care’s team of volunteers, either manning the shop or on the welfare side, is invited to drop into the shop for a chat between 10am and 4pm Mondays to Fridays or call in to one of four coffee mornings organised between Calahonda and Benalmadena.
