GIFTS: Provided for underprivileged children during the festive season.
The Duquesa Charitable Society of St George launched its 2015 Children’s Gift Appeal in November, with the intention of providing gifts for local underprivileged children during this festive season.
They were looking for donations of cash and/or small gifts (preferably new), which they then used to put together gift bags for underprivileged children aged from babies to 16 years of age as identified by the local Social Services Departments in Manilva and Casares, and the Emaus Social Kitchen in Estepona. Last year the charity provided gift bags for around 450 children.
Another option was for people to donate €10 to pay for an individual ‘gift bag’ which will be presented to an underprivileged child on Three Kings in January, and just a few days before Christmas they have filled nearly 500 bags.
