PENYO ROC: The victim was climbing.
A BRITISH MAN aged between 45 and 50 has died after a fall while climbing at Penyo Roc in Polop.
The fatal victim was climbing with a companion in the El Raco de les Tovaines area and fell approximately 45 metres and, although still alive when he was rescued, he died upon arrival at hospital in Villajoyosa, emergency services have reported.
The fire brigade sent a rescue team and a helicopter to collect the climbers and the victim reportedly responded to reanimation on the way to Benidorm fire station. An ambulance met the helicopter and paramedics took over attempts to revive the climber, who was in cardiorespiratory arrest, but were unable to save his life.
