RAFAEL NADAL sealed his sixth title of the year in style as he beat Australian Nick Kyrgios in straight sets in the China Open Final.

The World Number 1 eased to victory over the Australian, who had previously won nine of his last 11 matches, with a dominating 6-2 6-1 victory to secure his second China Open title.

The Spaniard, who recently secured his third US Open title, looked calm and composed throughout the match, and despite an early scare after saving a break point from Kyrgios, won four games in a row to dominate the first set.

The every fiery Kyrgios received a point penalty at 2-5 after lengthy discussions with the official and seemed a frustrated individual throughout the match as he struggled to handle the 31-year-old’s pace and power.

Nadal continued his devastating form in the second set, breaking Kyrgios twice and holding a very comfortable service in the final game to wrap up his second China Open, 12 years after he won his first.

The win in Beijing extends Nadal’s points advantage to 2,370 points over second placed Roger Federer in the World Rankings.
