TWO people have suffered serious injuries after an aircraft made an emergency landing near Madrid in Spain this afternoon (Tuesday).
Emergency services were quickly on the scene after the ultralight plane landed in a field around 200 metres from the A1 road in San Agustin del Guadalix.

The two occupants of the aircraft, aged 66 and 67, were rushed by intensive care ambulances to the Hospital de La Paz in Madrid and the 112 Comunidad Madrid emergency control centre has described their injuries as ‘serious’.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
