THE Ciudadanos party in Rincon de la Victoria has proposed using a new type of computer software which can reportedly help protect victims of domestic abuse.

The group announced they want the council to use the ARGUS CVG system, or a similar one, which consists of a phone app which can be activated without the need to log in to a phone and sends out a GPS alarm to the police officers nearest to a victim.

Elena Aguilar, spokeswoman for Ciudadanos, said: “It is a sustainable system since there is no need for any more resources than the ones we already have, only the application needs be installed on the mobile phones of the police or in their vehicles.”

She added the app was, “undetectable,” and free for domestic abuse victims.
