Woman killed in Mallorca after being crushed by a rock

A 24-YEAR-OLD woman has died and her boyfriend seriously injured when a large rock fell on them in Cala Vinyes, Calvia, Mallorca.
The woman was killed instantly and the man was left with his legs trapped under the half tonne rock. They had been sitting on it when it slipped and gave way. The woman was thrown into a ravine then crushed by the rock just before midnight on Monday
The man, aged 25, managed to alert emergency services and was rescued by the fire brigade then taken to Son Espases hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
It took the firefighters more than two hours to free the man’s legs using hydraulic cushions. He has severe injuries.
