TWO sailors were rescued from the sea in Denia after their boats collided on Saturday night at around midnight. Two of the crew of the boats fell into the water and disappeared which was a huge cause for concern for the Maritime Rescue helicopter. The chopper tracked the coast and eventually found one of the crew on the shore having been able to swim to safety himself. The other man was found by police officers with a fractured leg and taken to hospital. On the same night, in Javea, four people were rescued after their boat drifted into the rocks in the Cala dell Francès. The Maritime Rescue helicopter lifted all four people to safety as there was no way to reach them by boat. Nobody was injured and the boat remains lodged in the bay until it can be safely removed.
