TWO crew members of a yacht flying a Dutch flag sailing in Almeria waters are under arrest after customs officers found 5,500 kilos of hashish stashed on board.
The authorities launched Operation Landa when a Tax Office Customs Surveillance aerial unit detected a semi-rigid dinghy loaded up with of bundles of the kind commonly used to transport the drug heading for the yacht.
Customs marine and aerial units boarded the yacht and transferred it to Almeria port, where they got court permission to search the boat.
The authorities reported there were 183 packets of the drug in all, which was of the highest purity.
