Marihuana being cultivated indoors
A DRUGS plantation hidden inside a Marbella flat has been uncovered.
National Police discovered 303 marihuana plants in an uninhabited property in the neighbourhood of Las Albarizas.
An investigation started after police received several tip-offs that there was a possible plantation hidden in the urbanisation.
Investigators carried out a search of the area. When they investigated a block of flats in calle Arroyo Primero they found an unoccupied apartment. It had a reinforced door installed, and from underneath it came the pungent smell of marihuana.
They also found that the electricity supply was fraudulently connected to the main grid.
On entering they found a fully functioning plantation with 40 ‘grow’ lamps, irrigation, electricity convertors and air conditioning.
