THE City Council of Palma has decided to maintain the educational use of the municipal plot located in the Cas Capiscol neighbourhood after the Department of Education revealed that it is interested in building a new public school on the lot. For years, the site which is situated in front of the Ocimax cinema in the capital has been used as a car park, however it is one of the few municipal spaces in the city earmarked for educational use. The Ministry has confirmed its plans to build a centre for early childhood and primary education, although the decision has not yet been finalised. The development also depends on whether there will be a nursery built on the same site, since the space is not big enough to also build the large education centre.
