BENIDORM has once again hosted the National Police Drones conference. The venues for the three phases of the conference were split between the town hall’s Function Room, the Plaza Triangular and the Heliactivo installations on the Poniente side of town. Following the success of the 2018 conference that was also held in Benidorm, the event was once again organised by town hall, Valencia’s Polytechnic University and the town’s Policia Local force. The conference was aimed at Spain’s police forces, the Army’s Emergency Unit (UME), the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), the Tax Authority and other bodies and organisations that now use unmanned aerial systems to assist in carrying out their work. European regulations and operations carried out since these were introduced, successful cases where drones have been used, forensic analysis of drone systems and coordination between piloted aircraft and drones were some of the topic covered during the conference.
