Costa del Sol News: Police arrest reckless driver who recorded himself speeding on social media

Police have located a young man who was caught speeding at 220 kilometres per hour in Marbella. The 21-year-old driver uploaded a video of himself to social media as he sped on a road with an 80 kilometre per hour speed limit.

The video uploaded to Instagram showed the reckless driver speeding in the San Pedro Alcántara tunnel as he returned home from a party. Guardia Civil managed to track down and arrest the man, who has been charged for committing a crime against road safety. 

The video exposed the young man, who recorded himself as he exceeded the speed limit by 122 kilometres per hour in a Volskwagen Golf car. The Guardia Civil began to investigate the illegal conduct after being made aware of the recording, that was first uploaded in May.
