WHEN Britain joined the EU, the Royal Mint issued a 50p coin depicting the holding of hands, now that it is leaving a new 50p piece bearing the words ‘Peace, prosperity and friendship with all nations’ will be released on January 31.

Married to Ophelia in Gibraltar in 1978, John has spent much of his life travelling on security print and minting business and visited every continent except Antarctica.
