Coronavirus: White House to unveil $850bn rescue plan

USA- The White House is proposing an estimated $850bn emergency stimulus to address the economic cost of coronavirus.

It will aim to provide relief for small businesses and the airline industry and include a massive tax cut for wage-earners, sources told the Associated Press.

US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin is expected to outline the rescue plan on Tuesday.

It comes as numerous states followed a federal state of emergency with restaurants, casinos and other establishments being closed across the nation.
