Manchester United has become the first Premier League club to donate 30 per cent of wages to the NHS.
An official announcement is expected within the next few hours but it appears captain Harry Maguire has agreed after being asked by executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
The defender, who earns £190,000 a week, then spoke to teammates who were in favour of the move for a month.
The stipulation is every penny goes to the NHS to help fund the battle against coronavirus, and it is rumoured their contribution could amount to £8million.
