A total of 816 new coronavirus cases have been reported in the region of Catalunya, northern Spain, in the past 24 hours and almost 200 of these were in Covid hotspot of Segriá, Lleida.
On Sunday, the Catalan Health Ministry announced the new number of cases, bringing the total number of infections in the region to 76.318 since the beginning of the pandemic. There was also one death registered, bringing the total to 12.617.
According to the data on the 12.617 deaths, 6.903 passed away in a hospital or health care facility, 4.112 in a care home, and 799 at home, the remaining cases are not listed due to a lack of information.
After the outbreak and subsequent lockdown of Segrià in Lleida, there have been an additional 190 new infections in the last 24 hours, taking the total up to 3.180 for the area since the beginning of the pandemic, and 137 deaths.
