NUMBERS announced on Wednesday, November 4, show there was a record 100,000 new Covid cases reported in the US in a 24-hour period.
The record one-day increase was reported by the Covid Tracking Project whose data also showed a steep rise in hospital admissions and worryingly, more than 1,100 deaths linked to coronavirus.
More than 50,000 people across the US are currently in hospital with coronavirus – an increase of about 64% from early October.
As the US registers a record 100,000 new Covid cases, the country is busily caught up by the Presidential election.
The US has both the highest number of cases and the highest total death toll in the world, with almost 9.5 million total coronavirus infections and more than 233,000 deaths.
