A gran from Ironville has been called a hero after she made scrubs for nurses during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Gran Kath Scott aged 72, has hit it big on the People’s Postcode Lottery and won a wonderful £140,000. The kind hearted gran though has immediately given most of the money away. Her grandkids are extremely lucky as shortly after winning, Kath decided to give most of the money to them.

According to Derbyshire Live, Kath hit it rich with the NG16 5 postcode. Kath said that “good things come to those who wait”.

Kath has made scrubs for hundreds of NHS workers during the coronavirus pandemic. She said: “It was hard work but it didn’t matter – I knew it was all going to a good cause.”

Her lucky grandkids have walked away with the most of the winnings though and Kath said: “I’ve just called them on FaceTime and given £100,000 away already.”

Kath’s partner Alan suffers from Parkinson’s so the pair will not be heading off on holiday with the remainder of the winnings. Kath explained that: “we won’t be going on a big holiday – instead we’ll do what we can to help others”.
