Estepona Ring Road To Improve Traffic Flow

Estepona ring road widened

Estepona Town Hall says that it is carrying out works to widen the northern ring road and improve traffic flow in the area. The works involve the extension of Calle Santiago de Compostela, which will be connected to the northern ring road and Camino Vereda de Los Frailes. It will have two-way traffic, more than 400 square metres of green areas and twenty new car parks.

The Councillor for Development, Infrastructures and Tourism, Ana Velasco, has said that the project consists of a new stretch of road which will run parallel to the Hidralia water supply tank, allowing the connection of roads that until now were unconnected.

The works, which have a completion period of two and a half months will also include the refurbishment and enhancement of two green areas, which occupy a surface area of more than 430 square metres, and the creation of around twenty car parking spaces. In addition, the pedestrian walkway that runs next to the water tank and connects Camino Vereda de los Frailes with Calle Vigo will be renovated.

The northern ring road around the city was inaugurated at the beginning of 2020, one of the most important projects in the town in recent years. Its commissioning involved the construction of nine roads, totalling more than 42,000 square metres in surface area and more than 1.6 kilometres in length.

All this has improved circulation and mobility in the town, creating an alternative to the existing route viaAvenida Andalucía.
