Dust off the cossie, as high-pressure systems are due to sweep in and continue to deliver stable and dry conditions over the Costa del Sol, Almeria, Murcia, Costa Blanca and Mallorca from Friday until Sunday. Clear or mostly sunny skies will prevail across these beachfront spots, with only occasional high cloud possible on Sunday in some spots. Residents and holidaymakers can expect minimal chance of any rainfall and plenty of outdoor time as unusually hot conditions for the time of year are expected.

Temperatures will climb noticeably higher than typical mid-April levels. Many inland areas of Andalucia and Murcia are expected to push towards or above 30°C, while coastal zones enjoy pleasant warmth without excessive humidity. Light winds will predominate, although moderate breezes may occur at times along exposed shores.

Friday brings the first big wave of warmer air

Daytime highs will rise across the southern regions on Friday. Values in Murcia and parts of the Costa Blanca are expected to reach the mid-20s, with Almeria and Costa del Sol areas hovering around 23-26°C. Mallorca is due to see comfortable max temperatures near 22°C. Overnight lows stay mild, rarely dropping below 12-15°C in coastal spots, creating ideal conditions for evening strolls or al fresco dining.

Peak heat arrives on Saturday

Saturday is predicted to be the warmest day of the period in many locations with temperatures more like June than mid-April. Inland spots near the Guadalquivir valley and Murcia could approach 30 to 32°C, while coastal resorts on the Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca enjoy highs in the upper 20s. Almeria will benefit from similar warmth, and Mallorca is reckoned will climb to around 22 to 24°C under clear skies. Saharan dust may subtly affect visibility or give skies a hazy tint in the far south, though it will rarely impact comfort directly.

Sunday continues with the summer feel

Warm conditions carry through into Sunday with only slight changes. Daytime temperatures will stay high, often exceeding 25°C widely along the Mediterranean coast and on Mallorca. Slight increases in high-level cloud may appear later in the day, yet sunshine hours stay generous. Winds are predicted to remain generally light, favouring a lazy beach day and sightseeing throughout the Balearics and mainland south.

Practical advice for the weekend

Visitors to these areas should start applying sunscreen generously and stay hydrated during the warmest afternoon hours, as from here on in, the sun can be unforgiving. Evenings will offer refreshing relief as temperatures drop gently after sunset. This spell delivers early summer feels perfect for pool days, coastal walks and terrace lunches, without being too stifling to do anything. Make the most of it while you can, as a scorcher of a summer is just around the corner. Forecasters are saying that such warmth feels more like June than April, so light clothing and sun protection become essential.
