Popular Costa del Sol radio presenter Selina MacKenzie launched Not Just a Marbella Girl three months ago as a free Facebook community for women living in Marbella and surrounding areas, and has been taken aback by its success.

Membership has already reached well over 1,700, reflecting how much interest and need there was for these authentic social connections beyond typical expat scenes.

Selina MacKenzie hosts The Lifestyles Show on Talk Radio Europe and has lived on the Costa del Sol for many years. Before moving to Spain she pursued acting and modelling in the UK while running two businesses. Her experience in media and community building is now driving this new initiative for women seeking genuine bonds.

Women can join this group to form real friendships, exchange ideas, and participate in inclusive activities. Many newcomers to the Costa del Sol or those seeking deeper bonds find the women’s-only space especially welcoming. Conversations flow naturally during meet-ups, encouraging support and empowerment for participants from diverse backgrounds.

Selina told Euro Weekly News, “What sets “Not Just a Marbella Girl” apart is its emphasis on community over cliché. It’s not about image, it’s about connection. Women from all walks of life are coming together to support one another, build friendships, and enjoy the social side of life in a way that feels both inclusive and empowering.”

Events organised so far include elegant afternoon teas, relaxed coffee meet-ups, and sociable lunches. Those who attend can enjoy opportunities to chat, laugh, and build lasting relationships in comfortable settings. Feedback from early sessions has given nothing but praise for the warm atmosphere and genuine interactions that make everyone feel valued.

Future plans for Not Just a Marbella Girl

Future plans feature a stylish fashion show, Moroccan brunch, curated wine tastings, mini golf sessions, and additional informal meet-ups. Organisers tailor these experiences to suit varied interests while keeping the focus on enjoyment and community spirit. Interest in upcoming dates continues to build rapidly among members.

Emphasis remains on substance rather than just superficial elements. Participants can connect through shared experiences rather than image-driven expectations. This approach creates an empowering environment where women support one another in everyday life on the Costa del Sol.

Growth of Not Just a Marbella Girl has shown what demand there is for meaningful women-only spaces in the region. Membership stays open and free. Interested women simply search for “Not Just a Marbella Girl” on Facebook to join and discover upcoming events.
