This summer, the beautiful Costa Blanca town of Javea will become a vibrant global hub as it prepares to host the incredible 31st edition of the Javea International Festival, to take place from July 2 to July 4. This event, which has been highly anticipated both by residents and visitors, will transform the Vía Augusta into a bustling hub of international gastronomy, music, and cultural exchange. Not only this, the event will be free to attend, and is expecting to welcome more than 30,000 visitors.
A global tour through flavour and music in Javea
This year’s edition of the festival boasts an impressive lineup of 19 participating countries, offering attendees a unique opportunity to travel the world right at home, through taste and sound. The 2026 edition introduces Thailand to the celebration for the first time, adding its rich culinary and cultural heritage to the mix. Meanwhile, festival favourites Morocco and Uruguay are making a much-anticipated return, ready to share their traditional dishes and vibrant folklore with the crowds.
Unique musical highlights and local traditions
The gastronomy will be a main draw of the event, but it will not be the only draw. This international cultural event will boast a heartwarming, friendly atmosphere, fostering connections between cultures, innovations and ideas across generations and nations, and a celebration of different aspects of each country, from food to traditions to music.
A major highlight of this edition is that visitors will also be treated to a unique musical spectacle: a traditional Swiss alphorn, or alpine horn, demonstration performed daily by musicians Ueli Ott and Fritz Frautschi.
Local folklore performances will also take place, showcasing Costa Blanca’s prowess when it comes to music, spectacle, and fun community gatherings.
Evening entertainment for the whole family
Each evening promises a lively atmosphere driven by a packed entertainment schedule. Alongside the food and drink, visitors can also enjoy performances by the Sweet Soulz duo, the Mariachi Internacional, Candombe Valencia, and various dance and performing arts schools like EnDanza and Star Studios. Live bands, including the New Blanca Band and Swag, will keep the energy high late into the night.
Whether you are a local resident or a summer tourist, the 2026 Javea International Festival promises an unforgettable weekend of global unity, delicious cuisine, and fantastic entertainment.
