September savings, good news as Repsol’s fuel discount is sticking around

If you’ve been filling up on the cheap this summer thanks to Repsol’s discount, good news as it’s not going anywhere just yet. The energy giant had originally planned to end the promotion on August 31, right as everyone heads back to school and work and the bills start stacking up. Instead, bosses have decided to extend it a full month, running now through to September 30, specifically to help households through what’s normally one of the more expensive stretches of the year.

What’s on offer, and how to get it

Pay through the Waylet app. Repsol’s own mobile app, at any of its 3,300-plus service stations across Spain, and you can still knock up to 45 cents off every litre. On a full tank, that works out to around 18 euros back in your pocket. It’s worth knowing the discount isn’t a flat rate for everyone: it’s worked out individually based on what other energy products you have with Repsol. So if you’ve also got your electricity, gas, heating or solar set up through them, you’ll land in the higher discount bracket and save more at the pump than someone who’s just filling up.

Hauliers and the self-employed get their own version of the deal

It’s not just everyday drivers who benefit. From 1 to 30 September, hauliers and self-employed workers using a Solred, whether the physical card or the digital version through Waylet, get an automatic, guaranteed reduction of 10 cents per litre, applied directly to their invoice. You don’t need to buy any extra business package or sign up for anything additional to qualify.

Repsol isn’t the only one offering the discount

BP has made a similar call, extending its own fuel promotions into mid-September. Providers are trying to cushion drivers against rising costs, with average pump prices across Spain now sitting above €1.72 a litre.
