Don’t forget the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning returns to La Cala de Mijas for 2026

The super popular World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is returning to La Cala de Mijas this September, giving the local community another chance to enjoy sweet treats, savoury snacks, great company and plenty of coffee while raising money for Macmillan.

Something for everyone

On Friday, September 25, everyone is invited to gather at The Blarney Bar in La Cala from 10am. The annual fundraiser is being held in support of Macmillan Cancer Support and promises a morning filled with homemade treats, refreshments, competitions and community spirit.

Over the past nine years, the event has grown in popularity. Together, the community has raised more than €36,000 for Macmillan through previous coffee mornings. The money raised helps support people affected by cancer by contributing towards practical assistance, emotional support and essential services.

You do not need to be an expert baker to take part. Organisers are encouraging everyone to get involved, whether that means preparing a homemade favourite or simply picking something up from a local shop. Cakes, biscuits, scones, brownies, banana bread and savoury favourites such as sausage rolls are all welcome. The message is “fake it or bake it”, it doesn’t matter, it’s the contribution that counts. Those bringing food donations are asked to take them to The Blarney Bar from 10am on Friday, September 25.

Not just eating

There will also be plenty happening throughout the morning besides eating cake. Visitors can try their luck in the popular “Guess the Weight of the Cake” competition, with a chance to win a prize.

A charity raffle will also be part of the fundraising, with prizes generously donated by local shops, restaurants and businesses from across the local area. For those  wanting to enjoy a relaxed morning with friends, there will be coffee, cava and plenty of opportunities to catch up with neighbours and members of the local community. Money raised through refreshments will also go towards the charity.
