World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is back for 2026. How to get involved, bake, or donate

With nine weeks to go until Friday, September 25, the local community in La Cala de Mijas are getting ready to turn on its ovens, and grease cake tins, as one of the most popular fundraisers of the year returns to the Blarney Bar.

Gathering in The Blarney Bar in La Cala de Mijas from 10am onwards, residents and visitors will come together to share hot coffee, chilled glasses of Cava, classic British bakes, and competition all in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Over the past nine years, this local community has raised an extraordinary sum of over €36,000 for Macmillan through these yearly coffee mornings of lemon drizzle and Victoria sponge. This generosity is an incredible achievement, their combined efforts go to help fund critical care, practical guidance, and emotional assistance for those facing cancer.

Fake it or bake it, its up to you

Whether your specialty is a classic banana bread, a batch of freshly baked scones, rich chocolate brownies, or a savoury sausage roll, every contribution is welcome.

Organisers are emphasising an inclusive “fake it or bake it” ethos: whether you spend hours watching Bake Off and slave over perfecting a homemade buttercream or pop to the local shop for a favourite treat to donate, your support helps drive the morning’s success. Bakers and supporters can bring their cake and savoury donations directly to The Blarney Bar at 10am on the morning of Friday, September 25.

This morning is a must have in the diary as its not only about the eating. There are other activities designed to raise funds and bring people together.

– The “Guess the Weight of the Cake” Competition. Test your estimation skills to win bragging rights (and perhaps a sweet reward).
– The Charity Raffle: Packed with generous prizes donated by local shops, restaurants, and businesses across the coast.
– Coffee, Cava & Catch-ups: Enjoy hot drinks or toast the occasion with glasses of Cava, with sales directly benefiting the charity.
