Over 700 young players set to compete in fourth edition of the Mojon Cup

More than 700 children are set to participate in the fourth edition of the Mojon Cup football tournament, a championship which will be held at the José Antonio Pérez Stadium in Lo Pagan from Friday, August 7 to Sunday, August 9. The tournament is set to bring together more than 56 teams, from under-8s to under-14s to children’s categories, and is marking another record-breaking milestone for the growing competition.

A record-breaking year for youth football

Held every year as a prelude to the El Mojon patron saint festivities in honour of an Roque, this year’s edition of the tournament is expected to be the biggest yet, featuring a total of 56 teams and more than 700 players across different categories in the area. It is organised by the El Mojon Festivities Commission, in close collaboration with the municipal Department of Sports.

Strategic venue change to handle expanding roster

This year’s venue, the José Antonio Pérez Stadium in Lo Pagán and its adjoining pitch, was a strategic move on the part of the organisers to accommodate the expanding roster of participating teams, as well as a way to offer players a dynamic stage to showcase their skills, teamwork, and passion for the sport of football.
