Get ready to rock again as San Pedro brings back festival with British legends and an Australian sensation

It’s back. San Pedro Rock, one of the coasts longest-running festivals of its kind, celebrates its 22nd round on Saturday, September 26. A evening packed to the brim with international headliners and homegrown talent, and its all for free.

When and where and who

Doors open early at 4pm at the Palenque del Recinto Ferial de la Caridad in San Pedro Alcantara, with music rocking well though the evening until roughly midnight. Organisers have added bars, a market stall selling music-related products, and a children’s area, ensuring families as well as die-hard rock enthusiasts have reason to attend.

Dr Feelgood need little introduction to mega fans of the genre. Widely regarded as one of the defining acts of British pub rock, the band’s live album Stupidity famously topped the UK charts. Joining them for the first time is The Volcanics, an Australian group known for their energetic rock and roll performances. Audiences should arrive early to take in the sheer power of their live shows.

Five bands from across the local scene complete the line-up: The Rob Sas Band, The Tragic Company, Crommy, Pantano and Natura, giving regional musicians a proper platform and chance to shine.

Town Hall supported event

Javier Garcia, San Pedro’s deputy mayor, has described the event as having become a genuine fixture on the local calendar, praised for its artistic and musical quality. Jose Antonio Moreno, director general of culture, added that it still holds true to its original aim: offering a stage to the many rock and pop bands working in the area.
