Rehearsals are in full swing as Studio 32 prepares to bring some of musical theatre’s best-known shows together on one stage in San Fulgencio. Now That’s What We Call Musicals! will feature songs and performances inspired by favourites including Mamma Mia, Les Miserables, Frozen, Hocus Pocus, Cabaret and Moulin Rouge.

Studio 32 cast prepares for opening night

The cast of Now That’s What We Call Musicals! are being put through their paces with singing, dancing, choreography and character work ahead of opening night.

Behind the scenes, the team is equally busy preparing props, scenery, sound and lighting as the final pieces of the production come together.

The show follows Studio 32’s previous production, 9 to 5, with the group now turning its attention to a wide-ranging celebration of musical theatre.

Famous musicals share the same stage

The show features numbers from musicals including Mamma Mia, Les Miserables, Frozen, Hocus Pocus, Cabaret and Moulin Rouge.

The varied selection will take audiences through different styles and eras of musical theatre, with the cast moving between characters and productions throughout the show.

Audiences can also expect a taste of the Kit Kat Club, with Sally Bowles providing some Cabaret-style entertainment as part of the packed programme.

Four performances planned in San Fulgencio

The production will be staged at Teatro Cardenal Belluga in San Fulgencio.

Performances take place on Thursday and Friday, October 29 and 30, at 7:30 PM.

There are two shows on Saturday, October 31, at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM, giving audiences a choice of an afternoon or evening performance on the final day.

Tickets available across the Costa Blanca

Tickets are available from several outlets across the area ahead of the four performances.

They can be purchased from the Food & Drink Store in Catral, Cards and More in La Marina, The Post Shop in Villamartin, The Post Box in Dona Pepa, The Post Room in Benijofar and The Card Shop in Benimar.
